We are at a pivotal point
Your diet can be hard to change, but it all starts with your decisions at the grocery store. Going out for food may be tempting, it is quick, easy, and efficient, but takeout food can be full of hidden fats and lack nutrition. In order to avoid the temptation to go out and get food, you need to establish recipes and foods that you like to eat. Instead of going out and getting a burger, you can easily bake a salmon fillet and vegetables, steam some rice, and you’ve got yourself a complete and delicious meal. You can also pre-make your meals for the week on the weekend to really cut down on time and make sure you don’t veer off course.
One of the best ways to stick to a healthy diet is by creating a grocery list in advance. Oftentimes we go to the grocery store with no real meals in mind. Going to the store blindly and hungrily is a surefire way to load up on chips, ice cream, and a slew of unhealthy food. You want to make sure that you have a clean protein on the menu like fish or chicken, in season vegetables to accompany your protein, as well as some healthy carbs to make sure that you feel full. A healthy diet doesn’t have to feel limiting at all! Get a little experimental in the kitchen and you will be amazed at what you can accomplish.
In order to establish a schedule that you will stick to, it is important to set realistic goals and expectations. If you haven’t gone to the gym in two years, you probably won’t be able to stick to going to the gym twice a day for the year. Establish your comfort level and then find ways to push yourself past those limits. One of the best ways to ensure that you will achieve your goals is by finding a gym buddy or by using a personal trainer. Having someone to answer to at the gym will make you much more likely to achieve and surpass the goals you have set for yourself.
